Tuscany

Fall is upon us, the trees have changed colors and Christmas markets are being assembled. We’ve covered quite a bit the last few days. After Perugia we drove around Tuscany. Tuscany was breathtaking...everything about it…the hills, wineries, sunset, food. We indulged on freshly pressed olive oil and sampled fruits from the “strawberry tree”. Trying this new fruit brought me a lot of joy, a very rare experience these days.

In Tuscany, we stopped in Montalcino, Sant’ Angelo In Colle, Montepulciano and Arezzo. We‘re no longer traveling in peak season and it hit us while traveling through these towns. On one night we found ourselves in a situation where there were no restaurants open for dinner. We opened a bottle of Brunello and binged on the Crown on mostly full stomachs from lunch. We picked this region to visit Collemattoni and Palazzo Vecchio Wineries. It was a very special experience to spend hours with those close to the production, land and story behind each bottle.
